Hi,

ChrisCSL- Yes, its the second Header
where the Primaries are formed to
go around the RHD Steering linkage.

Pooky- what you said is correct but does
not alter the fact that the CSL Rack is
quicker than the std E46 M3 Rack, the
Z3 1.9 - 2.8 Rack is 2.7 at 54mm per rev
so is just a tad slower than the CSL Rack,
although it has tab locks on the rack.

The Z3M Rack ratio is slower again and that
the only variable rack that I recall
BMW supplying on M Cars was on the
E36 3.0 which was 41mm on the first turn
and then different there after, making it
slower over all.

The current E9X M3 has the quickest rack
of all M Cars at 12.5.1 but the rack is
60mm longer and the rack mounting points
are wider apart than E30/E36/E46.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

does the Z3 rack bolt on straight to M3/CSL? or does it need any modification?

The BMW Z3 Rack from a 1.9 up to a
2.8 is also the same ratio as the CSL,
but it has to be the half steel/half alloy
casing version, and not a Z3M Coupe
either.

There is no centre steering angle sensor to the Z3 Rack.

The quick Z3 Rack is not so easy to find.
