Just a bit surprised like i say, a bit half finished in my opinion.

So I had a look at my backbox today... it is the same as Daz's in so much as there is an inner sleeve to the rear pipes. Not that you can see it once they've done a few miles. Will post a few pics of my poor old shed up later.

What's interesting though is that my pipes don't have that twin rim look to each exit pipe like yours seem to have . I'm at a loss as to why that is and figure they must have altered the build process somehow.

As Daz says it is considerably lighter than an OEM exhaust (and also their other spec road version) but there is no doubt that it was still designed with the road driving public in mind if only by virtue of the fact it has 4 exit pipes.

A true race spec exhaust (say like the one BMsport has made for E46 racers) needs only a single silencer ... i.e. it's missing the extension and silencer box for the right hand side as you look at the rear of your car. Trouble is though I don't think many road going CSL/M3 drivers would like that look
Is the BMSport race exhaust OK for trackdays or is it too loud? Assume it allows plenty of space for a proper diffuser - idea on the weight? Any pics?

Suspect it will be touch and go for trackdays but certainly no more so than the Supersprint Race. We were talking about options for this today with the fabricator.

It runs straight back yes so allows good space for a proper diffuser and weighs in at less than any aftermkt solution currently on the mkt. I can also get it made in titanium like I have on my race car if that floats your boat.

Can you please keep me informed on developments. Does it go from cat back or centre pipe back?

Daz,

Any idea how this back box will fair on the noise checks at track days?

Really like the look of that and if it does something for the performance then its a winner all round.

Only concern i have is that it would fail the checks at a track.

My next one is Croft @ 98db strict

BTW
car looks stunning they just look so good dirty

Just for interest, std back box weight is 25kgs. SS lightweight race back box is 10kgs, weighed with wrapping/packaging, so saves at least 15kg's. That's the reason I have one. Noise is very nice in combination with silenced SS centre section, which I'm currently running. Fairly sure most trackdays wouldn't be a problem with mine.

I found it not to my taste with 100 cell cats though but I'm sure some would love it.
