I have ever only done ONE track day NOT on cups, my first in the CSL. Since then my attitude is:

No records in the wet but if it dries out I want the cups!

I guarantee however that I WONT be on Cups on the 20th

talk a good cup
only me and matt had cups for the ring/anniversary meet (that may not be an accurate statement, however, time has passed and I have decided it was so)

agreed shim

I had a major aquaplane on the bahn heading back to the ring...even with spankers cups, they're dangerous in wet conditions..

Snetterton on 1st December was fine on my f1's, but John was struggling on cups, so cups are definetly dry weather only for me

If its cold (sub 5deg) or standing water then I agree, otherwise it's just all about driving style. If you can push the car to generate some heat in the tyres then Cups are fine in the wet and gripper than road tyres for sure. I remember a very wet day at Snett with Bealo chasing me around, him on Falmens and me on Cups and I was gettings eom good heat. Same at Silverstone last year.

Temptation in the wet is to bak off then the Cups never get warm enough.

That's how I remember it too and I found my brand new rears and half worn front CUPs perfectly good in the wet
... even around the Green Hell isn't that right Adem ?
