I remember talking to a guy at Sytner Stratford some years back who said very few of the later CSL's sold at full price. Ie. there was some hefty discounting or as mentioned 'manager' cars where the dealer uses them as a PR car before pushing them out to market.
It is amazing how much of a discount can be offered on certain cars. I have a friend who got a brand new £80K 7series for £45K and that was an ordered car... not a demonstrator. Furthermore he was going to pay cash but noted it was actually cheaper to take out BMW finance @1.5% and then invest his money over the term. Also with the finance, you got free servicing whereas the cash payment you didn't. Guess they hope it then just 'locks' you into the brand when it comes to balloon payment or new car sir? time
