I doubt whoever bought it will be overly concern with it as all they'll probably see is a low mileage CSL investment potential. Best of luck to the new owner

Didn't loads of people have new clutches/flywheels and Murkett's a few years ago in the BM3W days when there was that big panic about clutch slur ?

When I enquired I was told:
"they also tell me the car has had a new top end of the engine due to slightly low compression on one of the cylinders whilst the car was in for a warranty check, so at present the car cannot be revved above 5,000 rpm for 1200 miles whilst running in." |

Just to put things correct - This car HAS had a new bottom end (700 miles ago). Last year Gareth @ elms diagnosed the "common" head gasket failure upon compression test - which i requested when it went in for routine servicing. A new head was ordered. Upon strip down slight bore scoring was found. A new block and pistons, crank, shells, pump etc etc etc etc was also ordered and fitted (under BMW warranty). BMW warranty paid approx £15k for all engine work + loan car for approx 6 months whilst bits were on order from Germany. A big thanks goes out to BMW elms Cambridge (Emma, Gareth and Dan). The previous owner also had his fair share of warranty usage. New gearbox, diff, springs, (and more - which i can't recall at present) The cars virtually brand new! Cheers BMW |

Thanks for the info.
As the car has had a new block, this car is now no longer a matching numbers car which will massively effect the collector value in future years. That being the case, I don't think I would have paid £52,000 or anything close. |

Presumably the engine number would be carried over - is that verified / confirmed by Elms ? |
