I was insured with Admiral before but CCI were a lot cheaper. They have confirmed anyone renewing thats under 35 years will not be eligible for sports car policy on M3. So premium will more than likely shoot up.

To be fair to CCI they are seeing what they can do but it doesnt look hopeful. Time to shop around I think.

Aren't CCI's underwriters AXA? If that's correct then all the big boys will follow suite.
CCI are after all, just specialists dealing with 'Competition' car insurance and are part of a much larger group; Towergate.
It would appear by this somewhat startling revelation, that they are now just a car another insurance company for Grandads. with 'Competition' thrown in for effect.
Time to reconsider their position in the marketplace as the No1 for CSL's, and seek alternatives upon renewal.

I dont believe this!!
After 5 years of trying to get a quote with CCI I thought this year would be my big break but as renewal comes round they go and up to 35 years!! ARRRGGHH...

I got this reply:

'Unfortunately due to underwriting changes, we are not able to offer insurance on the M3 until all drivers are over 35.
I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to quote you SO MANY TIMES but these changes have been made by Aviva the underwriter.'

So peps that are currently on the 'sports car policy' under the age of 35 with CCI just get an increase in premium. Others that aren't just simply get turned away?

They can still insure you under their “Competition Car” scheme. Just doesn't include the free trackdays! Thats still with Aviva, Odd.

Neil, I think it Aviva not AXA. I want to know who all these policyholders are who are crashing their cars whilst insured by CCI .... mind you it must be all those sub 35 year old youngsters .

Not guilty....it would actually need to move out the garage to be crashed.

CCI come good (Sort of) sorted a renewal less than half first quoted but as Karbonkid says no more track cover for under 35's. Anyone with current policys will get the good news at renewal.

Bit of a PITA if they've discontinued that sort of policy, but with regards to expensive quotes, can you not get on the blower and start haggling?

I'm with AXA over here, and was paying €800 last year as a 35yr old / 5k pa / SD&C with full protected NCD. This year they put it up to €879, so I rang them up and said I'd take both cars elsewhere if they didn't sort it out, expecting them to drop it back to €800 again

2 mins of hold muzak, and back they came with €650

Type in Classic car insurance with trackday cover in google.

A load of companies come up, like this:
http://www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/bmw-insurance/

Then one of us can ring a few of them up and ask the question and see what they can offer us in terms of discount and TD cover and if possible for under 30's.

Im in the office all week so can ring a few up tomorrow and see what they say.
