Here's my cautionary tale - at the DN6 event earlier this month, I had Pagid RS5s on the front APs. I had had a couple of recommendations to use them and couldn't source RS29s on time. As Shimmy says, the pads literally smeared themselves all over the discs when they got hot and caused a judder that became so bad that I had to abandon the track. I called AP directly, who diagnosed the problem (RS5s would only be ok for lighter work, they said). They then gave me details of somewhere near the 'ring to go and get the discs skimmed. Also ended up replacing the pads with Performance Friction items (these were APs recommendation). Brakes are now awesome. Downside is that the pads rattle around because (I think) there is a problem with the anti-rattle clip.

In backwards or upside down. I've done both

Further to Shimmy's post I have just got hold of some RS29s from Questmead and notice they have red tips on the normal yellow background (only on one end obviously). Does this denote the top or bottom and if so which way is which.

To be honest I thought they were alright either way up.

Found the source of my pulsating brake pedal.

Wheel bearings.

Got quite bad at silverstone. Will be nice to get back on track with new pads and proper bearings and see how i get on.

Carbone Lorrain RC6 so far are excellent. Just need a nice dry trackday to test properly.
