Yes, just plugged in to the cd changer socket.

They don't seem to make the same one any more though, it was called an ice link plus or similar.

Hello everyone,

It's quite an old thread, but I would like to know what is the best solution to connect an iPod / iPhone to our cars.

Is it still the Dension?

I'm looking for a "plug and play" solution, but the Intravee seems to require some new leads...

Regards,

Alex

I have a DICE unit to connect an iPod, it works pretty well. Shows track titles on the head unit and you can navigate with the head unit buttons if you are patient enough.

Thank you, I'll have a look at it.

I might as well only put an AUX connection. It seems more simple and would be compatible with other devices...

I bought one of these today: http://www.ebay.de/itm/GROM-BMW-iPod...item1e61d16578

I will let you know how I get on. It also supports generic USB devices and AUX input.

Would recommend a proper interface, mostly because I can *just* about cope with plugging one cable in to the phone when I get in the car, but two (aux + charge) is clearly beyond reason. A proper interface should charge the device too. And this one, like many, also has blutooth option which is perfect for when you make a short journey and can't be arsed to take the phone out of your pocket

Nice!

I have just ordered a Dension Gateway Lite 3.

As you say, I didn't want to get bothered with 2 connections (AUX + Charger).

I will keep you informed.

Just fitted the Grom and am very happy with it. Came with these cool little posi-lock connectors that I was initially suspicous of but actually they work very well. Fitted and working in 15 mins, track names displayed, charges the phone, sat nav (iphone tom tom) fades out the music nicely, all good.

Want the bluetooth add-on though as it doesn't route calls to the car unfortunately.

Hello,

I've just installed the Dension Gateway Lite 3.

It was rather easy to install. The difficult part is to leave enough space on the back of the radio as the adaptor takes some space.

I put the Dension box (which has a USB input) in the glove box and then I put the iPod cable hidden in the center storage box bellow the climate control.

Thank you all for your advice.

Alex
