Having sold mine and replaced it with the CSL I can honestly say the E92 M3 is a much better 'all rounder' than the CSL but that is hardly surprising really.
The straight line poke from the E92 is very good, in many cases not far off my V10 M5 but and the engine note from the V8 is great. Another plus is this, the whole time I had mine, not one thing even a bulb give any bother. Compare this with the M5 which spent as much time sitting back with my dealer as it did on my driveway and it, IMO shows how good a package the E92 is.

However its horses for courses im afraid, 1k a month they were loosing when I got out of mine and there are loads of them over here. This was a weekend car for me and as such the CSL fits the bill much better and hopefully wont loose anything or very little in comparison plus you will always get a much greater sense of occasion or driving something a little bit special with the CSL.

Default e92 m3 depreciation

i'm back in a csl after 12 months in a dct. 1 year cost me 10K. Great car and overwhelmingly a better daily drive than the csl. Thats all the praise i'll give it, my wife drove the dct but won't come near the csl!!
The csl is a driving experience every time you back out of the drive, the e92 isn't. £435 road fund licence is annoying not to mention the bonnet vent that fills with soapy water when you wash it. BMW really thought that one through.
Sorry about the whining to all E92 drivers but the csl is tops!!!
