Damn right!!

I'm still in favour of the 1400kg minimum weight, I reckon I would be near the front then

Sure fire way to get numbers on grid up.....

standard class, with controlled brakes, suspension.

Standard engine/exhaust.

Standard weight etc.

Controlled cage. Controlled seats.

Only thing to change would be geo settings.

Not only will it increase numbers, make for better racing it will seperate the men from the boys and stop the open wallet guys stomping ahead.
More affordable to for the paupers out there.

Not taking anything away from the decent drivers on the grids, but a more even field will make it better for all parties involved.

Hazy and radders, if you need a driver anytime, Im ya huckleberry.

Would like to create the standard class again really, but without the cars interested there's not much we can do. Good luck to steve in his other racing.

We didn't control the cage but engine, suspension were all control. If we get the demand then we will reinstigate.

Suppose the problem with that Shane is that if you make it too accessible, wannabe-racers like me could get involved for £15k+ race license, and end up causing inexperienced carnage to the pricier metal

Not seen Dan for a while, but I see he's put a manual 'box in his car now – just curious but how many cars in the CSL Cup run SMG boxes?

I miss mine – when it worked...

Off topic but was chatting to a mate who is a designer at xtrac - their seemless shift sequential boxes are 0ms torque interuption on the way up the box and now do clutchless downshifts too! Slightly more money than a Drenth though!

The problem IMO with having a standard class is that most of the people who'd be interested have already set off down one route or another with their car and won't want to swap suspension or change rose joints back to rubber for example to fit a standard class so to make it happen in any great numbers you'd effectly end up with a "standard engine class" rather than getting parity on everything else? Maybe having similar tech rules but 2 power to weight classes would be a way round it?

Yeh, maybe gone too far now, but it would make for interesting viewing.
