Congratulations Titan, that's some journey right enough.

Back home in Essex at 10:00PM exactly.

Pretty pooped :-)
Excellent..glad you made the ferry..worked out well in the end..
Enjoy the car, it will be sorely missed in Ireland

Today's mission was giving it a very thorough clean down so we can see what we're looking at. After a pressure rinse, two bilberry wheel cleans, foam pre-wash, zymol wash and dry, I can conclude that you live in a tarpit Brian ;-)

tricky to see from photos but lots of tar deposits.

So, nothing for it but to break out the petroleum distillates, or turtle wax as its called. Sadly 4 hours labour only gets you one side when doing by hand...

Next up the dreaded blue spotting on the glossy shadowline..

really needs some compound and a machine polisher, but turtle wax is not bad...

At the end of the day then, just done one side (no bumpers/boot/bonnet!)

Although they look quite clean in this pic the wheels are a lost cause. Plenty of blistering, paint lift, kerbing etc. Off for a refurb next week I reckon. Worth keeping a mint set even though I'll be sticking on TD.

Hope to tackle those brakes soon and avoid driving with epileptic wrists

a rewarding day

Brakes are fixed! Front and rear CSL Cup Alcons are on. Ignore the wheels - originals are at refurb...

Once a year mate! It'll be painted at christmas, like always. Sadly as the year goes on it gets worse and worse...

Amazing that me alone can get it in such a state!!

If you fancy coming down to lend a hand this year you'd be very welcome! I extend this offer to friends every time, but this will be the eleventh occasion my pal Jim and I will have done it alone.....

Congrats Lee, pleased for you mate, you'd have got around the car removing tar a lot quicker with a clay bar!

Put some pics up of the car on the ground then, I kinda like them with M3 wheels!
