Yes this about the limited revs... hmmm interesting.
The newer BMWs E90 etc do not have a plastic key.

The plastic key is fully functional guys

It can possibly decrease laptimes due to the reduced weight it has

Yes the plasic key has a chip in the head, they are very small. VW have used plastic emergency keys for years and they do the same.

Another BMW dealership have since confirmed that the plastic key does contain a chip and can be used to drive and open the car. My wife is not impressed with all the experts on here or those at BMW

. I told her there was a small minority of 'experts' on every forum.

Well it having a chip explains how it can bypass ews then.

No need to worry about them going missing then, just don't leave anything in the boot

Yep

Chassis number + Registration documents may be required.

Suppose that's why is called a valet key to stop others from wringing the neck out of your car,by restricting rpm :-)
