Just to get this straight & im sure if im covering old ground.
my cars done 54k i pay monthly for the BMW warranty, when i pop over 60k if im paying monthly the cost stays the same? surely i have to make them aware at the end of each year the mileage & if its past the magic 60k mark? if not & the car is sold years down the line at +60k if the next owner continues the monthly payments will he pay the same sub 60k premium ? warranty fees
as far as i understand bmw's service dept. will anotate your car's mileage each time it is serviced/warranty work etc carried out so therefore i'm sure bmw will automatically notify their warranty arm of the business and the registered keeper/name to which current warranty agreement is held will get the good news of the increase in payments.

No that is incorrect.
I believe that if you start a warranty paid monthly it is a continuos policy (ie not renewed each year) therefore even though your mileage increases the policy remains as originally taken out until it is stopped and renewed (probably by another party). It doesn't affect payment or cover if your car should go above 60k within the period of your policy. Down side of monthly policy is that the maximum cover is the purchase value for the lifetime of the policy. Annual policy renews every 12 months therefore will rise in cost when renewed and when you go over 60k miles as it is a new policy. Plus point of this is that you can claim up to purchase value every year (policy period) I believe theoretically when sold the new owner should take out the policy and hence it will go up in price as above 60k miles. Not sure what happens if it is just transferred though.

Shimmy, interesting point about the month-by-month being limited to the value of the car. Do you know if this is the orginal new price value, or current value. E.g., if I buy a car for 23k that's had 23k of warranty work done on it, is the month-by-month effectivly worthless?

Anyone know what then happens once the cars are over 10 years old with warranty?
Do we still continue as normal? What happens when the car hits 100k? |

Well have to check. I thought limit was 100k miles but not sure if that matters with monthly payment or not

Once over 100k miles,that's it folks,no more BMW warranty,monthly or yearly.Except for driveline cover,which has a limit of £5000.
