It's not too early at all Matt - I have it on good authority that Black ones have been scientifically PROVEN to be faster and generally make 3-5 more BHP than SGs
Thanks for the replies chaps, Dad seems to be very keen so if it all checks-out it might be his (mine) in a week or so.... To be honest, despite being a certified ///M nut, I really cant think of a car at this sort of price point which apparently offers such a good bet w.r.t. depreciation - he always wanted a Ferrari 456, Then a Maserati Gran-Sporte but the former will have heavy running costs and the latter the same + some will depreciate by the cost of this CSL in the next 5 years. The clincher really was that I can get OEM parts at prices which make ''service items'' cheap to the point that it would be churlish NOT to use OE parts. I have much more knowledge of E30 M3's but I see CSLs as the next Sport Evos - granted, no homologation credentials, but aside from the E92 GTS what else since the Sport Evo comes close for sensible money? I BITTERLY regret selling mine 3 years ago - I finally looked at some classifieds recently and I honestly felt quite ill afterwards..... I'm not convinced that CSLs will be going for £40-50K in 10 years, but when they break for £18K how they ever realistically be worth less than £20K for a clean car? A safe bet I think.... |
