I personally wouldn't be crazy about a near 3 year gap but presuming BMW confirm that this won't affect the warranty then it should be OK if you believe it to be genuine.

Are there MOT's during this gap to show the mileage?

That's the one, service history puts me off a bit and I'm not in any rush so will see what comes up.
