Yep patience

Thought about mine on a Friday and bought it on Saturday (I did look at two and luckily the horrible black one was a stone chipped Rong tool)

I dont have patience, i really want to buy one
But i do agree.
The more people i speak to the more i realise mileage is not as significant as i originally thought. I dont want it to be a garage queen, so i guess my views are changing.
Basically i am buying it as a track car, and the season is just about upon us!!!

Am afraid you need patience. It took me a year.
I looked at what the csl specalist had And I even looked at a 9K miles car for sale privately. In the end I went for a 26K mile car in the same condition for 7K less.

Why? because the 26K car in the same condition as the 9K car had less wrong with it! The 9K car had SMG and diff issues, probably owing to lack of use—even the battery was never connected. And no valid warranty.

Best

Jonathan

My car at 76k miles has a better condition engine, gearbox, clutch, differential, suspension, rear subframe mounts, rims, oil cooler, RTaB, Tyres, front paint job, exhaust, cat, plugs, alternator, flap potentiometer than when I bought her at 19k miles.

Default csl mileage

Ruebedo,
i was at one time in the same frame of mind as yourself with regard to mileage of csl's and the variables on mileage against purchase and subsequent re-sale. Shimmy's advice on the why's and wherefore's of buying is bang on. i don't know shimmy but he certainly knows his stuff.

I have recently bought csl number 3!! The last 2 cars i owned were very low mileage in comparison to the available cars today.
Condition is everything... My current csl has 50k miles with warranty and has almost twice the mileage of the first 2 cars added together!! However my current car is in better condition allround than the previous 2. This is simply down to the previous owners and having looked @ dealer csl's with much lower miles a forum csl with a genuine history(ideally the previous owners will know and more than likely be forum members) is the way forward. Best of luck with the hunting.
