This wasn't the car that forum Admin 'mark csl' owned! We're talking a different 'markcsl' here - similar but different bloke and car! So kpkpkp - your car hasn't had a new engine!

Wow, two Marks with CSL's who would of thought?
I go to sleep an awake to a massive following of supporters to whom I didn't realise I had, only to have my short term fame stolen from me. I chose my evotecknik/darkline username as has kpkpkp, I wasn't trying to copy or be clever. Yes it's a different Mark, sorry. However, this doesn't make me a bad person... Just because i'm not the other Mark doesn't mean the cars any worse. The car has never had a new engine. It has had a new clutch, that's about it. It has never needed anything else. However, as mentioned I had a contact at my local dealer whom I asked to do an AUC check on the car once I had purchased it (safe in the knowledge that if there was a problem the warranty would of taken care of it). They said the car was tip top and that if they was going to market the car as A1, they would change a few cosmetic bits. We had to do it in stages as to not raise any suspicion. New steering wheel Not sure of name (silver runners inside doors with csl on) Bushes all round Springs (one had cracked) I spent a great deal of cash on the stereo and may even have the instructions still if they were not passed on. I had two sets. A great deal of effort was put into keeping the install as neat as possible. I did a BMW check on the cars service history and all the due dilligence possible before parting with my money, great car you have there. Took me ages of traveling the country looking at some terrible examples but I was in no hurry having not long before I brought a brand new M3 convertible. I live in Essex and ended up in Yorkshire to see this one. http://gallery.me…/mark.ninnim/100142 However, the story ends when the financial crisis hit and as the owner of a mortgage brokerage smack bang in the middle of it all, they had to go (along with the helicopters and speedboats). I saw SXR on pistonheads a while back and called the dealer but the deal would of ended in divorce and to be fair to the Mrs, she has stood by me through the bad and it would of been the wrong thing to do, very tempting though. The mortgage market has returned which is good news but my attention has returned to smaller toys... Ducati 848 please. All I need is one of those memory eraser pens that they have in Men in Black that makes you forget about things, in particular CSL ownership. Only a bike will give me the same buzz. Apologies if my joke about accident damage and theft caused alarm, however, I am bitterly jealous!! I'm sure you understand... Its a lovely day today, I know she used to enjoy a Mequires clay rub, enjoy! Mark Last edited by markcsl; 28-03-2010 at 11:31 AM. |

Hi Mark
Thanks for clearing that up. I know you from Evo T - I used to have a White E 46 M3 with CSL wheels, bumpers and stuff, then changed it for a 911 C2S. I remember your car from their. If you have the instructions for the amps that would be well handy as I can see the money you spent on the Audio/Sound Steam kit. I had to resolder the contact points on the rear components and the sub yesterday. I cannot get the fade to work from front to rear for some reason but I have sussed out mist of the other stuff. Did you ever run the fronts on full range or did you have the on a high pass filter. The system has plenty of rumble but very little punch? It is funny you mention the CSL kick plates as it was one of things I was mist impressed with as all the others I looked at had tarnished. It was only the second CSL I looked at but I could tell instantly she was the one. Kp Last edited by kpkpkp; 28-03-2010 at 03:52 PM. |

Small world, I remember sending you a pm offering to buy it! I loved that car.
I will see what I have on the amps but I suspect you have more luck on the web? I am not sure about how it was wired up but it sounded good when I had it? Sorry I can't help more. I'm sure front and rear fade worked. Cheers |
