Well, what a great weekend. Had a fantastic drive on Saturday/Sunday. When you haven't driven it for a while it really makes you realise what an amazing car it is!
Feckin' hooked up. Managed to have a good mess about with the Intrax settings for the first time since they went on 6 months ago. About time! Moved the ride height up a touch. Got a nice setting for some of the best roads over the Black Mountains here in South East Wales. Fabulous mix of very fast sections of road. Like a roller coaster up here. Plenty of challenging sections with lots of undulations and bumps. Great test for the suspension. Had another adjustment on Saturday night and went back out for a further 50 miles on Sunday. Apologies to the few cars that got buzzed passed on my test drives. I'm afraid there is no way to do it quietly in a flapless CSL with SS exhaust. Couple of arm waving moments from a few of them as I disturbed the peace. Refurbed black wheels and Cups going this week ready for Snett in April.

Nice one Alex, sounds like a quality little drive, we don't have those kind of roads around here sadly, plenty of dual carriageway but plenty of police watching the roads as well!

I do find there is a pretty even split between people who enjoy the noise and those that find it very offensive.

OK, fresh lovely set of Cups mounted on my black rims today. Nitrogen gas filled again this year as this seemed to provide very stable tyre temps on track last year.Think I'll swop them onto the car next weekend and get the silver wheels refurbed.
New tyre pressure/temperature monitor system purchased ready to test out. Ultra-lazy bones spec so I don't have to get my mitts dirty or bend over in the pit garage (always a plus to avoid issues) Extra oil and filter change done. Air filter off and cleaned. Air box cleaned. Few more jobs to be done and ready for new TD season. Thinking about removing rear seats, side bolsters, boot linings, etc. and a few other weight saving items.

Where do you get your tyres filled with Nitrogen? Main advantages are stable warmed up temps then?
Can you mix it with air afterwards? |

Kwikfit do nitrogen now, air is 80% nitrogen so yep you can mix them. The advantages are that the nitrogen will be pure and dry, hence less corrosion (a fraction) and should be more stable or predicable in terms of pressure increases with temperture.
