if it came down to two similar aged and km cars and they were both in comparable condition, i would pick the replacement engined car ... but that's just me. I do feel some times people get to hung up about originality, especially if it was a main dealer replacement.

Plus on a thread nature, like the others say, if a car has a new engine fitted by BMW and was run-in correctly and guaranteed then it wouldn't put me off at all

Tough choice, I cant make up my mind on this one.

My friend has an R32 that got a new engine just before he got it. He paid the going rate for a genuine one.

Did make me wonder why it was replaced though.
