Think I'll need to try this 'flapless' thing. Though Im always in Sport so would I even notice a difference?
Does it change the sound between idle to 3k rpm? |

If you've got a flap keep it if you want.. if it's stopped working remove it. It makes no difference to performance and is only really there for noise supression at lower rpm.
Fwiw...only person who seems to disagree on this is Thorney - but I think if you do a search here you'll find this has been discussed before.

i'm gonna take mine out, i had all new parts fitted under warranty, but im sure it doesnt open sometimes - i believe its fairly easy to remove, can someone post some intstructions please thanks jamie

Its very easy to remove, just make sure you have the ignition off, undo the three allen screws holding the solenoid on to the side of the airbox, which will allow you to pull it free. This then allows you to revolve the flap by hand, giving you access to the screws that hold the valve onto the valves shaft. Remove said screws, flap comes free of shaft, revolve shaft back to original position, replace solenoid! Thats it
