Thanks Ben,
I'm also absolutely nowhere near having the ability of taking either the car or old tyres anywhere near their limit, not whilst being in control of things and having my eyes open anyhow Have spoken to Mikes mate and, subject to him checking the dates on them, done a deal with him and will be collecting a set off him a week on Sat. Booked in a week on Thurs for the SuperSprint exhaust so with that and the Cups it'll be like a different car. Remind me, who was it who said "The car is definitely NOT having any modifications / changes done to it"? |

Brian AP's/ Supersprint/ Cups....... it's just the beginning start worrying when you're buying carbon mirrors after having fitted the harnesses and the fire extinguisher. |

Be careful in the cold, they are REALLY dicey in sub 10°C conditions, but grip like f*$k once up to temp. If you have never experienced Cups, you will be blown away (especially the grip levels the car can generate on track). Assuming you are at Bartlets, I'd get the geometry checked and set up for fast road use (Gareth will know the settings to dial the car in to) - just in case the geo is a bit wayward - would be crazy to spoil the car just because of a poor set-up. And then be prepared to be amazed at the balance of the car on track, it really is sublime .

Can anyone PM me with details on these tyres? Are they available elsewhere for less than advertised on Tyreleader? I'd quite like to try a set this year.

When I had a quick search, TyreLeader were the cheapest. It was just the age of them that put me off.
I wanted a set to try and they'll possibly be the last set as by the time they'll be due for renewal they are likely to be as rare as rocking horse crap, or too old! |

DOT code is the tyre specification.
The date code is a four digit code (2 for week number, 2 for year) that will be in a stamped (into the mould) type font. Normally in it's own rectangle/oval box on the side wall. |
