Renewed last week and Mondial still insist you use BMW for servicing.I think it's the manufacturer 3 year warranty from new that has changed and you can go anywhere to get a service,as long as they use genuine BMW parts and issue an invoice.

I bet they cant refuse a claim, because you didnt go to BMW for the service, legally. They may try to. They would have to prove that the car was not serviced correctly. We get Mercedes trying to invoice people who get their new leased car serviced with us. They quote what we tell them to say and suddenly Mercedes drop the "invoice". That is nothing to do with the 3 yr warranty, but the lease deal. Its all worded in a way that makes you fear it. But in reality, its all bullying tactics. But on the other hand, is it worth the hassle for what is possibly a few hundred quid saving. I got mine serviced at BMW when it was under warranty. Easy life |

Shane - block exception doesn't apply to extended warranties, only the original one.
I just checked the latest Modial docs online and you are right they still say that you must use authorised BMW dealer. I've deffo seen info to the contrary as seen below but best not to take the internet's word for it eh! http://www.cslregister.com/forum/sho...6&postcount=15

I've seen a claim where engine was replaced and last service was indie BMW specialist oil service, service book checked and authorised by BMW warranty Mondial. (not mine)

I took out the fully comp Mondial policy yesterday - £65/mth with £250 excess. Chap on phone said you do not have to use BMW to service, but MUST be serviced correctly. I'll still use BMW though. Might try Elms?
