Out of curiosity is there a favoured choice of wheel for the track/spare set...
...a decent lightish wheel of reasonable £age? - soo much cack out there! I did the circuit of Ireland 4 yrs in a row with my mate from Belfast in an a 300+ bhp Integrale ...you know it's summer when the bands are marching up & down |

I got a quote from Camskills for 4 SuperSports recently in CSL size for about £900 delivered (not fitted). Going to get them ordered next week I think
It's something I remember happening over here one day back in 1997 Chris |

Unless your going to do a few track days a year Cups are not worth the hassle imo.
I used to carry two sets of wheels around at tracks and it seemed to take me forever changing wheels and suspension! Plus you have got to load/unload car, jack etc..... I won't be doing that again so for a good all round tyre i don't think the SS can be beaten atm. I ordering a set for the Pork next month....

As above, having done the same, I can honestly say that SS are the best solution, particularly if you only have one set of wheels. Whilst MPSC do offer extra grip in the dry, it is only marginally more than the SS whereas it was considerably more than the old PS2 that many used. More importantly in my opinion, SS are much, much, better than MPSC in the wet on track and road - important if you are driving across to the Ring and cannot rely on dry weather! All IMHO of course 😜

Completely agree with everything said about SS's. I have them on my CSL and GT3. Its just not funny how few miles a rear set of Cups lasts on a GT3. So SS's the best solution. Especially since it only gets used as a euro trip/weekend shopper.
Ive done a couple of track days on SS's in the CSL following other CSL's on Cups and tbh there wasnt a lot in it. Only after a few laps could you feel it starting to understeer a little, where as the cups would keep gripping. Plus it only takes one experience of heavy rain on the autobahn on worn cups to make you wish you had SS's
