It mighn't of been the smartest thing to do (flooring it on half lock on a wet track) and bringing it to the Ring whilst so inexperienced, just think how you'd feel if it were your CSL though.

Doesn't matter how much a car costs it's always someones pride and joy.

Of course, anyone would be gutted if it happened to them which is why I would never floor my pride and joy in the wet - especially on track - as the consequences are obvious. I feel he just needed to use his head a bit rather than his foot.

I do feel sorry for him but you make your own luck.

I certainly feel sorry for the dude, but like cslgirl said, there is a time to use your head a bit more and that was very clearly one of them! The corner where he ended up in the verge is a sharp blind right just after Breidscheid and you get cars shooting up there with no time to stop if someone is straddling the track...

I remember my first lap on the Ring: I was crapping myself, drove almost exclusively over to the right of the track and let almost everyone past! I probably checked my rear view mirror more than i looked out through the windscreen! I think the Top Gear van would have no doubt been quicker!

It's a different story nowdays...!
