I can relate to that as I don't have money to burn and I like to look after my car but I just get so much fun from driving it that it out weighs a pebble dashed bonnet. Go drive one & you will see what we mean.

You would think that you wouldn't really get lots of stonechips on track as it would be clear from stones or is it more if you end up in the gravel? I'm getting 3m paint protection film fitted to the front end of mine this week to protect it as the car doesn't have any chips and has never had any paint! being silver can be a nightmare to get it to match spot on as well

I've had the front end re-done by BMW and the flippers redone too (by Mark), then took it to Paintshield and had their self-healing film applied to the whole front and roof. It's not cheap, but some serious machinery gets that stuff added in their workshop....'that' P1 clip was filmed there.
So best of both worlds now, satisifies my OCD in having a blemish free car and it can be driven properly too (mandatory), including the odd trackday. It's following cars very close that kick stuff up that seemes to cause any nicks to the bumper which is prone as it has such a large painted surface area. Some collector's cars wouldn't be 'worth' driving too much as they are better to own and look at, the CSL is just not like that. It's way too good to drive. Most people buy a CSL to use as BMW intended. It does seem a crying shame that the only thing you want a CSL for is as an investment.
Mine is kept immaculate - what-ever it needs it gets, but it is regularly used on track. I try and keep the miles down as much as possible, but have still managed over 6000 this year. When the sun comes out, so does the CSL LOL.

In answer to the OP I think 28k is a good price for it and its worth more than that imo
I would rather have fun in a csl than a bland e90 m3 for similar money. Are csl parts harder to find now? |
