Your better off taking it up the road for a spin,than letting it idle for an hour mate.

Starting in and idling like that is the worst possible thing you can do. As mentioned above, drive it for 15 mins to warm it gently or don't start it at all. It'll be perfectly fine with the Ctek or similar hooked up for that length of time.

Ditto... have a look at page 52 of your M3/M3 CSL "Owner's Handbook" Top left hand corner text makes it quite plain & clear
