Be careful when removing/replacing seats, the fixing bolts are single use only (for safety) so you will need to replace them. You can re-use them of course if you're careful but BMW dont recommend it.

BMW probably does this out of liability concerns more than anything else.


I agree that the nut should be replaced as it has a built in lock washer on it that deforms when tightened to 33lb/ft but the rear bolt (together with the front nut) are 10.9 grade, highly doubt there's going to be any stretching going on with such minor torque on it.

But then again the nuts and bolts are about 4 euro to buy (all together), so for a piece of mind, why not
