Default Warning

WARNING CLIMATE COMFORT WINDSCREENS

I have noticed whenever I approach one of those flashing road sign it always flashes at me indicating that I am going to fast even when the Speedo and the GSP reckons I’m not.
When following the wife’s car it never flashes at her but as she goes pass the sign it would flash at me!

I also was stopped for speeding in Germany for 10 kph over when I’m in the middle of a group of cars! ! !

I’ve put this down to the reflective properties of the windscreen bouncing the signal back quicker giving a wrong reading!

Has anybody heard of this before?

Nope never seem to have noticed a problem before. I pass one everyday and same goes with my daily at the moment, no issues there.

My windscreen mounted satnav sometimes struggles to find satellite lock on startup, but this is a known issue with the 'Climate Comfort' screen. I never had any problems with my previous 'Grad Tint' screen.

Not heard of the speed camera issue though...

I have recently passed a flashing speed tester thingy and had no issues, the one i'm thinking of is in a 30mph zone aswell?

There is a newly installed speed display thingy on Aberdeen Rd (in South Croydon), it always flashes my speed even if I drop it to 19mph.

This morning the few cars in front of me it didn’t flash for, they were doing around 30 ( and it is a 30 zone). I have the climate comfort windscreen.

I havn't been radared by a piggy yet, hopefully the climate comfort windscreen will defect the c**ts.

Don't be thick Iain - a more reflective surface cannot "speed up" a laser, it just reflects more of it. If a I was a German copper, I'd stop you out of a group of cars......you just attract the wrong kind of attention

How's the new downshift button working? You might be able to keep up with me soon...............

Fighting talk ! !

Why haven't you put your name down for MLR Trackday at Spa

Then I could show you how good my downshift button working, as I disappear into the distance. LOL

Hows the old git Paul doing ? Has he bought another CSL yet ?

Paul is still playing with his litle toy car - the Exige, which is now is Cup spec. He entered his first race last year, backed it into the pitwall!! Now fully repaired, he's having another go this year.
Not down for Spa since I'm due to become a father in April! Still racing the Golf in 2010 and I may well be doing a 40 min race at Spa anyway in July - we'll just wait and see how well we adapt to childcare! God help us!
I've got a couple of race meeting at Brands again this year, I'll let you know the dates, see if I can win it again?
