Default Had my CSL for 5 yrs - just found the best/cheapest mod

Had my CSL for 5 years, and remember playing around with the seat settings in the early days but today went the whole hog and moved them down to their lowest settings. Must of only moved the seat down a couple of cm (previously on the middle setting) but you feel like you are sitting a lot lower and more 'in touch' with the car. It's a much better driving position IMO and the car feels a lot more planted - maybe the centre of gravity is a bit lower

I had only moved the seats lower because upon a close inspection noticed that both seat frames had snapped at the front - I had felt the seat flexing a bit but thought it was normal with them being plastic. Had the piece that had snapped removed and welded up and hopefully strength it.

Worth checking your own seats to see it there's any issues and while at it get the seats down to the lowest setting (if you haven't already).

Oh and a new seat frame is just over a grand !!

And thirdly my airbag light has come on - does it need an ECU reset to get rid of it - looks like everything is plugged in.

there were loads of posts a couple of years ago about broken seat frames iirc? guess it will continue.............

as for the airbag, i had an airbag light after mucking around with my seat and it was that one of the cables had ben damaged by the seat. Simpsons cut and reconnected the cable and rerouted thecable away from my Recaro runner and all ok. Check this out if you have been playing with the seat in and out as well as checking the connector is good and sensor is working

Strangely, my passenger seat runners were worn and frame broken. Both changed under warranty quite a while ago. I would have expected the drivers seat to the issue.

I agree with this and did think it was just me. I have an extra cushion only about an inch thick that I use for when a longish drive to a track and I'm going to be sat a long time in the day aswell. Feels totally weird and on top of car but is only an inch!

Any pictures of how low they can go?

Also is it possible to go low but still have the seat slanted slightly backwards?

I did that to too When I bought my CSL few weeks ago, I noticed on the drive home that I was sitting a bit too high. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the driver seat was indeed in the middle setting as the previous owner was a touch shorter then me. It's a bit of a fiddle but after 20 minutes of Effin' & Blindin' I managed to dropped the driver seat to it's lowers setting and now I feel like a proper Road Hero
