No mate no cutting allowed.
Tyres seem to be the big thing that they concentrate on and everyone is pulled at least once during the day into scrutineering and checked.

Just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy something, if its useless then just have to smoke them out during warm up!!

go for the Toyo R1R if you want a decent road legal wet tyre:

they are very soft and work well. not so great if it warms up and starts drying. lots of tread shuffle and movement due to heat build up.

I agree with Billy great tyre in the wet, also used as a race tyre in the fun cup
