Default SMG Paddle Shifter fix /repair M3/CSL

I was experiencing upshift problems with + paddle but not with the gearshift. The dealers will charge you over £100 for a new set. So I decided to take a look for myself.

You need to remove the airbag and steering wheel to access the workings.

I found its not the micro switches at fault. I found it to be wear on the grey plastic square buckets that sit on top of the micro switch. More so on the upshift paddle.

I fixed by putting a few drops of super glue into the underneath of the grey round bucket. This acts a shim to space the micro switch to the paddle.

Once set ( I left overnight ) and assembled it works perfectly. The paddles also have no play in them now.

This can be done in about 2 hours plus glue drying time.

This forum has helps me alot with fixes and faults. This is my attempt to give abit back.

Give it a go its a free of charge fix !!!! You wont see many more of those.
