Default review on pilot super sport

Hi guys, had PSS fitted yesterday, been driving around 160km on it, starting to run in.

I was on PSC for the last 2 year, been driving for around 7000km on it.

A very direct difference is that the car feels sharper, the corner is more responsive, you might not feel as confident as the cup when you try touching the tire, but it does give you a very strong grip while you exit corner, and even if you turn in wrong, it lets you correct instantly.

I highly recommend this Tyre for road use, i think on the road under dry weather, you cant really tell the difference between PSC and PSS, the grip is equal, but the PSS has a sharper responsive.

In the rain, it is completely 2 different world, i havent yet try the PSS in rain, but the PSC in rain is close to useless.

I will drive more tomorrow, and hopefully it will be fully run in soon, and i will write up some more reviews!

Well I just got back from the ring after the rsr trackday there yesterday and went on super sports. They are far better than any other "normal" road tyre, but (as suspected) they are about 30 seconds a lap slower than the cups. A bit squirmy in the corners, but they held up well to some constant grief, did 3 full laps on the trot and they were still ok on the 3rd. The wear was a lot more even than I expected, thought they would have ragged the nsf, but looked ok to me.

In summary, a very good all rounder if you want to run with one set of tyres only and they will outlast the cups - but at the cost of lap time. Did it make the trip less enjoyable? No, was still lapping fast enough to enjoy it and they actually taught me a couple of things about different lines, the cups grip level can be a bit flattering if you're not bang on the line.

30 seconds is a massive difference!

Were there any other changes?

Weather, suspension, 2.0TDI swap....

It's a big circuit - a couple of tenths on each corner soon adds up.
