Help - Dash Oil Level Indicator - Update 27/1 Still not Working!
Morning guys, just a quick question might be nothing (I hope!) might be unusual..
On the way to work this morning I was scrolling through the options on the dash, outside temp, time, mpg etc etc and happened to go past the oil service tab, it usually says 1.0L but this morning it displayed -:- !? This was first thing, I'd done about half a mile if that in the car so really it was stone cold, the cars not go hot coming to work but it still showed that, is this normal when the car is still cold and the rev lights haven't all gone out? Please say it's normal! Thanks Last edited by Dan; 27-01-2010 at 01:17 PM. |

Yeah, don't worry about it. If you've parked on a slope a lot or do a number of shortish journeys it's re-calculating the oil level. Sometime takes a while. Take it for a good drive and it'll be back soon. Something to do with not being able to get a consistent reading.
Mine does this now and then but always comes back. There is a way of recalibrating the readout manually but someone far more intelligent than me will be along shortly to tell you how....................

Ahh good I hope all is normal then! The car felt strong as an Ox yesterday whilst overtaking a Testerosa and another BMW Coupe at silly high speeds so I don't think it's out of oil!
Thanks Alex, will take it for a long'ish drive at lunchtime and see how I get on, car is always parked on the flat though btw |

Cheers Shim, is it worth taking it for a pounding later and getting it proper nice and hot?
I'm beginning to regret showing the Ferrari what it could do at 140+mph yesterday! |
