...is going bonkers no?

I've had a few enquiries of late - one wanting me to do him a favour and sell in my opinion cheap. The other being much more reasonable about it.

Having looked last night there are only 2 for sale on Trader at the moment, and possibly only one on PH. Are they all locked up & tucked away?!

One - 32k miles SG £53k
One - 62k miles SB £35k
One - 25k miles SG £????

Took my son (10) out in it last weekend with 2 of his buddies - they were screaming with glee when we were driving 'enthusiastically'...

Its almost reached fever pitch out there! Almost but not quite... The outlook certainly looks good for the short term at least, if you own one & might be persuaded to sell.

I'm only contemplating selling mine for a new CSL next year, so will be keeping it for a while yet, but is everyone else receiving PM requests about their cars?

When I said something about mine once I had about 5 PMs asking to buy the car immediately. They had misunderstood, so didn't even discuss price as it is not for sale.

Aware of a few that have been sold that have not even touched the market.

Few came up for sale earlier this year but they have all been hoovered up. When demand exceeds supply that can only result in one thing!

I saw the SG 32k mile one on Wednesday when I was in the dealers looking at other cars, there is definitely a premium for the dealer, they also had a Carrera GT and a 2k miles F40 in the showroom. The car looked pretty tidy, but at that price I would have at least expected it to have Cup tyres on it, and ideally uprated brakes .
The market seems pretty similar to the NSX market which I am more familiar with. Very few cars around, a lot of cars are known to the forum members, and many cars change hands without making it to the open market after the merest mention of thinking of selling on the forum.
I am under pressure from SWMBO to reduce the number of cars around the house, but there are other cars which would go before the CSL. I still can't get over how good these cars are, a good example of the whole being so much more than the sum of the parts.

Did the F40 have uprated brakes? It sounds like that dealer's customer base probably didn't want such things

I didn't ask about the brakes on the F40, at £1.1M it was outside of my budget by just over £1M. Carrera GT was £575k, 993 RS was something like £250k. I was having a nosey around as my NSX was having it's aircon re-gassed at the Honda place next door.

My brakes comment was intended to a tongue-in-cheek comment about how the standard brakes are not great and that upgraded ones are seen by many as not an upgrade but as they should have been as standard.

Its a secret.
But in all honesty today it would be not less than £33k, but end of the year....£35k? But I'm not selling so would have to be well in excess of those figures to tempt me.

As mentioned they're an awesome machine. There's nothing similar for the money. Maybe a £65-70k GT3...

If anyone does know of any cars for sale, I have a friend who is after one.

Must have the following:
Aircon
FBMWSH
Subframe done by BMW
Colour not important
Existing BMW warranty

Would be nice to have, but not deal-breaker:
APs
Supersprint
Good aftermarket suspension from one of the usual suspects

He has £35k budget right now (this may be negotiable upwards a little for the right car).

I have told him what sort of mileage to expect at this value and he understands that condition is more important.

Let me know if any of you are tempted to sell up.

The only car I can find that ticks all the same boxes (4-seats etc) I would want that isn't a backward step in handling / performance wise is a 991 Carrera S (cheaper and faster than a 997 GT3 :o ), but they are still currently £60k.
