Default CSL and baby seats?..

Hi guys,

Can the csl do the occasional school or nursery run?

My Kids are 5yrs old and 3yrs old.

Just wondering if any members here let their other half use the car as well for this occasional purpose or any other reason...?

Thanks.

My 5 year old lad has been out in the front seat of mine. I had to use my Porsche kiddy seat though as the base to was too wide on our standard seats. I haven't tried him in the back yet.

I didn't think the front seats were compatible, or doesn't have the airbag off control?

But the rears are isofix and good size so most seats fit. Need to put something like a towel underneath the child seats to protect the areas where they might rub on the grey painted surfaces. Biggest problem is stopping kids kicking the back of the front seat as it will mark and scratch.

My wife wouldn't want to drive it and complains it's uncomfortable, so no problems there as she just stays at home.

Worth a read: http://www.safekids.co.uk/what-age-c...-seat-car.html
However there is an anomaly, if you disconnect the passenger air-bag or have it disconnected, then the adult passenger is no longer protected, should you have an accident - your stuffed!

The car is no longer as per manufactured, an unauthorised modification has been carried out. Conclusion children go in the back for everyone's safety.

do the school run ( 44 mile round trip , twice a day ... 88miles per day ) in the CSL sometimes. Best car for it , drive there & back is country roads the whole way , all the school bags fit in the boot, etc ... my daughters are 9 & 12 though .

Wife won't drive it & can't say the kids love it either .. They prefer the 5 series diesel

I bought a Recaro child seat and it fitted perfect in the back and the base on it's own was perfect in the front.
Only used it a couple of times though and it has sat bagged up in the loft since.

I use a Recaro Young sport in mine. Fits very well. My lad has just turned 3 and is 16 kgs. A under seat protector is a must in a Csl. Approx £15
A possible alternative to this would be a Recaro Monza seat fix (isofix) for a 15 plus kg child. Ie approx 3 years plus. But I've not tried this one.
