Default WOW! how much for a slice of old Pork ?

Last weekend a 1992 Porsche 911 (964) RS SOLD for £220 000 ... this must be a record price for one of these.

its all going bonkers with rare older Porsche ... not that I'm complaining, have you seen the prices of 1973 2.4S's recently ?

Richard Meaden of Evo Magazine bought his 5 years ago for £35k - I suspect he is laughing all the way to the bank .

So are M3 CSLs but at a fraction of the price @ £220 000 I wouldn't dare risk it, would you ?

Somewhat over optimistic IMHO, especially in that "Special" colour

A rare car, initially decried for being too expensive, too raw, not different enough from the base model. Originally only championed by a single journo (Brian Laban IIRC) and suffered biting depreciation, but then gained a huge cult following later in life. Hmmmm....

Bit annoyed that my planned replacement for the CSL is rapidly becoming a pipe-dream now though. On the plus side, looks like Cesil is here to stay!

Buy a 964 C2S and mod it - then enjoy at he track.

I suppose the BMW equivalent is the E30 M3 Sport Evo from 1990, 964RS was around the same price. BMW's a third of the price, or less.

6GT3 & RS and the E46 CSL

993RS and the E36 M3

1973 911RS & the E9 CSL

That's just bonkers! Even with the best Man Maths it's hard to justify that for a hardcore 964 C2

I got a run in a 964 RS back in March at the Oulton Park RS Trackday and compared to the 6GT3/RS it shows it's age and moves around a lot more than I expected. At this stage and at those values they've become collectors comodities but the GT3 is still a car to drive and enjoy.

Got Anglesey in on the way home too
