I ended up on the trip due to a mate having an unfortunate incident with his M3 and offering me his place, so i never looked into the numbers etc. However i did hear complaints from some other people that the day was mis-sold in terms of numbers. We registered on the morning, before 7am and got 196 through 198 for our cars, so i would suggest that there were 250ish cars there.
Personally i didn't find it an issue, and it was a lot better than the TF on the SUnday, but there were people overtaking without consent and being generally knobbish, but there were also a lot of people not giving consent for overtakes which became a little annoying. 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other in my book really and both were in the wrong. Any passing in the bends was out of order unless consent was given. There were lots of different cars there, but that was part of the fun in my view. Being my first time, i would have rathered not have the race cars, but frankly they know how to pass people. As i've said, overall it was a very positive experience. Titan, shame i didn't know who you were, we were the rather noisy rabble sat at the bar table in the PK on the Monday night trying to persuade one of our gang to chat up the Albanian bar maid! |

Problem is that UK trackday rules have made people think that overtaking in a corner is somehow dangerous.
Euro trackdays with no overtaking rules are miles better than UK ones and the quick cars don't get held up behind someone in a shit hatchback who thinks that no one could possibly be faster than them because the know the names of the corners in reverse order. Less frustration = less lunges where is isn't appropriate = more relaxing day for everyone, slower and faster cars. RMA days at the 'ring are the same deal, just be grown up and it is the overtaking cars responsibility to ensure they make it past safely. Miles better.

Funniest bit is that he was searching for her on Facebook but instead of searching, put her name on his wall. Cue awkward phonecalls from his girlfriend and more hysterics. On of the other barmaids translated that she wouldn't give him a kiss because he was too drunk. |
