Hi,
AlexGTT- Here are some pics of my CSL. You may know the car and its previous owner ? Its been in the Primates den now for about 2 years. The Cars original spec is on the Simpson Website. When it arrived the following was undertaken to what had already been done- The Drexler Diff with 3.91 ratio was refitted. The A/C was deleted and removed. Pollen filtre and tray removed so that plugs and coils can be accessed in a few mins. Bremi Coils removed and X5 4.8IS ones fitted [there not Bremi] Diff oil cooler/pump fitted on MCB Gearbox oil cooler/pump fitted on MCB Steering Tie rods changed to rod ends with 'Bump' kit. Front ARB Adjustable drop links fitted Rear ARB Adjustable drop links fitted Shore 90 Gearbox mounts fitted 55 degree Water stat fitted Engine oil to water heat exchanger fitted Oil Stat set down to 95 degrees for oil cooler. About another 15 Kilos was removed. Plans are to run it for another 6-12 months and then maybe upgrade the engine/box, if you have ever driven a Proper E46 GTR V8 short stroke then you will know why. Or sell it move on and do something else. I only use it for Track days and the odd blast now and then. Regards, The Gorilla. |

Superb! Beemers seem a theme in the primates den then? Is that an old 5/7 Series in the last pic?
Nice work

Gorilla, you got an extreme CSL.
I remember the chats in mtorque about the M3 GTR, I am sure you were talking about the race version. I have one question. I see CF strut brace. Why you switched to CF aftermarket ? The original one is aluminium and the weight is not so bad. Cheers |

Hi,
Nathan- Correct. Glendog74- It was the first ever E34 M5 into the UK. I purchased it new via a Colleague in Germany, Wissenfels BMW in Montabaur, Dec 89, it was brought to the UK in Jan 90, when it went for its first service the BMW Dealer could not do it, as they did not have any tools, as M5's were not available in the UK till about Mar/Apr 90 if I remember. It was actually RHD but the chassis number said it was LHD because they were not available in the UK. Best Car I have ever owned. Sold it about a year ago. Still regret it some. 130,000 miles, never missed a beat, and would sit at 130 on the motorw.. sorry Autobahn all day long. AlexK- it was on the car when I got it, but it is much quicker to remove in part, than the standard version. AlexGTT- Thought you might know the Car. I much prefer it with the Vanos deleted and the Simtis Re-Map so long as you keep it up above 5500/6000 rpm, its point and squirt. Regards, The Gorilla. |

I thought I recognised it from the pic where you can barely see it in the garage.
