Got the new wheel fitted, had to pay £52 for the fitting, it feels much softer than the wheel that was on and obviously looks brand new, not a bad result considering the cost of a new wheel from BMW.

Try another dealer Andy, its been proven they don't all give the same level of service, its not up to the dealer to decide if you get a goodwill, its down to BMW but you need a dealer to ask for you obviously.

Ive got no warranty on mine either, its not a warranty item, you would be better asking when it goes in for a service as apparently if the car has not been in a garage and a goodwill is requested it will be turned down, something to do with BMW being able to see that its been in and connected to the system, just what i was told when i asked about it originally.

Yesterday while washing the car I decided to give the steering wheel a good scrub . . . . . I was amazed at how it has come up, looks brand new will post a pic up later. Only used a damp microfiber cloth!!!

- I'm amazed BMW replace these so readily when , I reckon, 90% of the time they just need a clean. Mine looked exactly the same as Scotts (smooth and shiney) before I gave it a good clean.

Pantene . I should offer a steering wheel refurbishment service. I may have to speak to BMW about it - I charge them £100 for each steering wheel I clean (in 10 minutes) , they save on replacement costs. Win-Win.
