I'm a fussy bugger as well & it took me nearly a year to find mine. Ended up with a car that had been tracked over so called one owner, car in perfect condition, etc. Car had been looked after & had an inspection before each track day. If you like driving more than having something to look at drive a Cesil and you will save your pennies to get one. Had mine nearly 8 years now.

I brought mine for 32K with 14K on the clock, the guy I brought it from was to worried to have the car chipped by road driving or even stolen while out and about, even had all the front end, mirrors and rear arch's redone by BMW, have owned mine 3 years now and you should see the front end now, but what fun I have had especially on the Munich trip last year shame we could not get the track day in, not enough of us on this forum who will track there cars.

Good on you if you can use it and not worry about it. For me it's alot of money to have tied up in a car and would want to preserve it the best I could, and sounds like you gave a very fair price back then. Would bring you a tidy profit now no doubt about that.

Felt that guilty about abusing my car that I cut the grass round it, cleaned it, filled it with fuel then started it to leave running, and the EML and DSC light are both on, did also have a Run flat light on too, but that is always coming on so pushed the button again.

Mine is hardly used and stays protected most of its life. From a few feet away it looks like it almost hasn't been driven anywhere. But it has done a few miles at half throttle.
