Sorry mate but having an opinion isn't a substitute for having a CSL - so how do you win ???? You seem to be saying I could have bought a CSL but I chose an M3 'vert because it didn't look tired. Your argument's flawed to the core - if you're so concerned about the condition of the car (which appears to be your main premise), then why buy an aged M3 'vert? Surely you'd buy something new - not exactly a driver's car is it? The comparison between an M3 'vert and a CSL is laughable, chalk and cheese. There's no denying there's a wiff of "playing the pink oboe" about the M3 'vert (I'm just saying! I own a "hairdresser's" 'vert myself ) whereas it's unlikely anyone will even notice the CSL - it's not for boosting flagging egos. Turn up at the pub in the 'vert and people aren't going to think "petrolhead" are they? Unlike the 'vert, the CSL's not a car to be seen in - it's for people who couldn't give a stuff about being seen, it's about sensation ; thats why it costs more. The fact it's become a collector's car, or perhaps more correctly a speculator's car is by the by really, it is what it is.

Im just not convinced about the desirability of an M3 Conv.. Regardless of the mileage! Its arguably the ugly sister of the E46 range.. It handles the worst, it is the slowest.. It has the chav image (rightly or wrongly), It's also hardly a rare car, If it was an ultra low mileage CS then I could understand it, If you seriously got offered £4 or £5k more than you paid for it then I think you are a little bit crazy to of refused., as that would of been another £5k towards a proper drivers car like a CSL
Seriously if you're happy with it thats all that really matters.

Billy says Verts are cool.

I think I saw Billy and Adem cruising down Hamstead High St the other day with the top down and I must say they looked pretty cool.

If you are as savvy as you are trying to make out then I'd bite his hand off because in 6 months time your car will have lost £4k. All of a sudden even a lower end CSL make sense.

The tracked cars are better looked after, if anything goes wrong fixed straight away just ask giraffe he looks after most of the cars on this site, and they were built to be used hard.
