Default When fireworks go wrong ...at my place !

I had forgotten about this little beauty. Its a few years old now, and happened during a fund raiser my EX wife was holding at our house.
The firework in questions was actually what could be called more of an ... ariel mortar ! .. launching a projectile to height of over 100 feet !!! ..cool !! ... well .... not so cool when you do as they say, and bury it into the ground, ... light the blue touch paper and stand WELL clear.. the first THUMP .. did indeed fire a ball of burning phosphur high into the summer sky to a chorus of wooooooowwww from all the assembled kids, friends, neighbours and family.... but what they didnt see, was that the first THUMP comes from the very outside of the firework, and we are talking about something over a foot across ! .... well... this placed an immediate eccentric load through said mortar, and forced it downwards at a great rate, sufficient to tip itself sideways in the soft earth ...so .. we no longer have an ..ariel mortar ! ... we now have a fookin ground based rocket launcher capable of shooting projectiles 100 feet horizontal, not allowing for ballistics and drop, which in a garden approx. 50 feet wide is pretty insignificant !

The results can be viewed here !!
