Trackdays - Essential Kit & Do's / Don'ts

Mods - any chance we can do a sticky thread on the above subject.

What needs to be taken / differences between coutries etc / legal requirements for driving in Europe etc..looking at previous threads, seems to be (in no particular order):

Hi Viz vest (essential)
First Aid Kit (essential)
Fire Extinguisher (is this still a legal req in Europe ??)
Triangle reflector (essential)
Gloves (essential)
Helmet (hire at track or buy / essential)
1 litre of Oil (optional)
Insurance (type? / recommendations)
Driving licence
Breakdown cover (if without BMW Warranty / breakdown)
Additional brake pads ? (how much do standards hurt on track days ?)
Wheels / Cups (optional)
Ensure Tow eye on car
Ensure noise within limits

Do you blank number plates ?
Do you tape up front lights ?
Any tips on etiquette ?

What else is should be on there ? Any useful links ?
