The CSL was brought out after +6 months SORN and the dash was like a Christmas tree. It was flashed up as the front drivers side wheel speed monitor/ DSC sensor.
![]() I know that it is a common fault but why does nearly every warning light have to flash up. Anyway I tried cleaning it up and replacing it but to no avail. It was not that dirty to be honest... just a bit of mud and grime. I have to say that the Allen key bolt was a pain in the arse to undo. These have now been replaced by BMW with T30 bolts. This is probably for the true techies but as the bolt goes through a large brass collar which is part and parcel of the sensor am I right in asuuming this is a grounding/earthing screw. I only ask as I did wonder whether I should have cleaned the attachment point of the bolt with something more abrasive after the initial cleaning of the sensor. I did scrub it when the new one (#34 52 6 792 896) went on. A 100m drive cleared all the lights and after about a mile the final yellow cog light went out too. I dont think keeping these things standing for long periods is very good for all the electrics et al. Pip (pictures to follow) |
