Heads up on slur

Well, recently cesil started to leak some oil (she is a garage queen so I was a bit baffled) so took a look at the garage and found the CPV to be leaking so changed that (you think BMW would fit a better rubber washer to that flipping screw). Was hoping that would be the end of story. After a few night drives, I discovered that the leak was still present. To say I was shocked is an understatement consider she never whiffs a track (ok guys, its a pain to hook up a track day around my neck of woods and I'm lazy as fark

Put her on the stand and after some checks by my indie, he said its the dreaded RMS (Rear Main Seal). No choice, had to lower the tranny and fit a new RMS. Whilst at it I changed the clutch as well and then my indie called me to say my SMG actuator was leaking (trouble comes in droves), so I had to source a new SMG actuator as there were non ava. in town. Whilst I was doing some homework on the SMG system I notice that people both in the states as well as Europe (including UK) changed their gearbox compression springs too when revamping the SMG. Luckily my mate in the UK was coming to town so got him to get me some springs from Arden (Not a frigging single spring available in HK including BMW).

Now everything is fitted, I have been driving the car 3 times a week and alot of it is pussy footing. But I noticed that when I want some beans it does not slurr any longer!!!!

Now, I've read that people change their clutch and the slurr is still present and I've notice that after fitting new compression springs (slightly thicker as the old ones tend to snap) and a new SMG actuator, the changes are crisp and forceful.

My theory and I'm no mechanic so bare with my ignorance, is that due to any slight leak in the SMG system due to either the SMG actuator, or other connected items and aging or snapped gearbox compression spring (they will still work but the length would be wrong) slurring develops.

I hope my experience can be of help for anyone who has this slurring issue that cannot be solved and is ruining the CSL experience.
