Matt, I repaired a set a little while back and put Heli tape on them straight after. Been on for 2 months now, and not a single stone chip, works really well. I nabbed it from work, but I think I used the same stuff as in your link. Only down side is that they are not as shinny as bare laquer, but polishes up ok after a wash.
I completly covered them, wrapping over the leading edge. This requires some handy work with a soap spray bottle and a heat gun as the curvature is too great for the heli tape in some parts. 150mm is only just enough height-wise to do this, so if you found some, say 175-200mm high, it might be easier to apply, as you'd have a bit of overhang to grip on to. Alternativly leave the leading edge bare and it will be dead easy to apply. I didn't want a line showing though. I'll try to get some photos up (don't have cecil at the moment). J |
