I suck at Polishing my car ...
So anyway, this happened about a month ago - I saw a minor fine scratch on the rear 1/4 of my car ... decided to whip out the cutting compound and get to work on it. Low and behold I went overboard and took a large chunk of clear coat out and went so far as to take a bit of colour out too (down to prime) ... was kicking myself all night as a result.
Decided to take the car to the best painter I know (they repair exclusively BMWs and is one of 3 shops here that's authorised and equiped to repair Alloy chassis - heck they repaired a McLaren F1 a couple of years ago, so no doubt they are good, albeit very expensive!!). Decided to fully tidy up the car, and have all stone chips repaired front and rear - basically a 80% respray of the whole car ... Should be like new when I get it back next week or so (yes it's taking them that long to do the car - they've named me the "fussiest customer ever" so they are taking their time to make sure the job's done right!!!)
