Nice find Gregor! Not seen that one although it was a little and I just love coming across unseen footage of the CLK DTM. There really isn't much of it out there.
I couldn't stay quiet on this thread without mentioning the CLK DTM is quite possibly my all time favourite car over almost everything out there past & present. So much respect for it and I know its not to everyone's taste but I think that's what makes it all the more attractive where it has some ball taking arches and overall stance which was touched by Mercedes best race engineers. With their limited production of only 80 cabs and 100 coupes it reminds me of the CSL in many ways. One of which they are a blue chip investment and have always said the CLK DTM is going to be like its older brother in years to come - the CLK GTR, which are now priced around £1 millions. It cost Mercedes €600,000 per unit to build of which €200,000 was lost on each car sold as they sold for around €400,000 each. CLK DTMs can be picked up for as little as £100,000 ATM and you can expect a massive return in the next coming years, similar to the F40. I know someone who bought an F40 15 years ago for around £125,000. Now he's considering selling after recently getting tickled to sell for £800,000!! The CSL may take a little longer to get to that Level but it's going the right way. I have promised myself that one day I will get on the CLK DTM wagon before it's too late. There are not many investments out there that allow you to enjoy it at the same time! |
