Andy Pressland - Murketts
Many of you will know Andy has been unwell for a while. Here's a link to a thread that was started a few months ago.
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/sho...ht=andy&page=6 With profound regret, I make this update today. Andy has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver & the pelvis. And the Doctors have given him 3 more months He is not expected to undergo any intense medical therapy during this time. He is at home still, but is reluctant to accept visitors. He has lost a lot of weight but is presently just about managing for himself. However it is likely he may be moved to a hospice at some stage. If Andy will accept visitors, Adrian Gibbins, will inform us. Your messages can of course be sent to Adrian (preferably by email or post) and he will relay them to Andy: adrian.gibbins@murketts.bmw-net.co.uk I have asked what we can do for Andy, and it seems really not much. Adrian will keep me updated if some of us can go and meet Andy one day I am really really sad - he is such a nice guy. My thoughts are with him and his family. |

That is terrible news, I expected it was bad but not this bad after speaking with Adrian the week before last. I asked him to let us know if there is anything we can do, but as said very little I guess.
Such a nice guy and refreshing to deal with too. Absolutely gutted

Oh shit. That is sad news indeed.
I have yet to meet him but he has always been brilliant on the phone when i've rang. I had been given some indication that things may be looking up when i was at Murketts back in early October but this is obviously not to be the case. My thoughts are with Andy and his family also. Rob

Oh God, so sorry to hear this.
I never met Andy, or even had any dealings with him but from feedback received on here, he's been nothing but helpful and very friendly. My thoughts are with him and his family. Horrible news. |

I felt compelled to register and leave my feedback on which is a very sad post indeed.
I think I am correct in saying that SailorBaz is the owner of my old CSL - and whilst that epic car was in my ownership, I had a lot of trouble with it, sadly. Murketts and most importantly Andy, were absolutley first class in trying to sort out the issues with it. I have nothing but praise for Andy, he was an utter gentlemen when I was venting my spleen with my CSL woes. My heartfelt sympathies go out to him and his family - I wish him the very best at this terrible time. Nigel. |

Obviously I have never met the guy but have heard nothing but praises about him.
I know what it's like to have someone diagnosed with cancer; my brother was diagnosed with it a couple of years back and very luckily survived the subsequent treatment, only to have a stroke 5 years later after being given the all clear from the doctors - Somebody high above must have been looking after him and he survived that without any subsequent side effects (he's a very lucky soul - if you could call getting cancer and stroke lucky, surviving it definitely is). He is now as healthy as ever - so miracles do happen. My best wishes go out to Andy and hope a miracle will happen upon him also. |

I have just had a further update. The Docs are going to put him on a bout of steroids/hormones to make it easier for him. Whereas the initial prognosis was the stark reality, the Docs will be doing all they can to make life easier for dear Andy and hopefully he is with us for much longer. Andy is feeling well today, and I hope that carries on. He is certainly determined to remain positive about everything. |
