Where is the option for none?
I have the oil changed twice as often as necessary. The car is low mileage (31k) and full bmw service history. Been using the same dealer for 5 years and any problems we have had out of warranty e.g. a leak on the diff (driveshaft) was done on goodwill. That was on inspection 1. Have had no problems in 27,000 miles. My husbands motorbike (2007 GS1200 adventure) is the same, full service history, problem with the ECU - would have been £1000+ but got it on goodwill. BMW seem to warrant their products out of warranty as long as they are low mileage and have full main dealer BMWSH. As far as I know, as long as you have FBMWSH you can buy the insurance policy for it. |

Fully comp £0 excess. A big expense for a low mileage car sitting in the garage. I frightened to cancel it in case a spark her up and she blows a gasket So the £0 excess warranty will stay just in case!

What's em service? The Emergenyc Breakdown? Quote:
My car has had a Xenon Control unit (I think, that might have been my old M3 ) but it did have a Diff replaced at 30k miles (11k ago now) I don't know whether or not that would have been done under warranty!? When you say 'goodwill' is that free or you give them a 'drink' towards it?

Since buying my CSL the only thing so far that needed fixing was the Alternator @ around £600 fitted, which was covered under warranty Last edited by mattCSLnut; 03-02-2010 at 01:07 AM. |

I have Comprehensive + European Assistance with £100 excess.
I had no claims during my first year of ownership, and around £700 worth of claims so far in this second year. I have also driven to Europe many times over those two years so European breakdown cover is a must for me. Previous to my ownership the car had around £20k of warranty work completed since new! I think the previous owner had a 'mate' in BMW and had many things done that probably did not warrant being done ordinarily... Still undecided whether to renew later this year or not as the car will be at the dreaded 60k miles mark

No warranty for 3 years
first two I had a new clutch, flywheel and gearbox on BMW goodwill. I paid 50% of labour but got a 2 year warranty with the work. More recently had the headgasket go but Simpsons did that as the car was there already. If I would have had a warranty I would be slightly better off I think. I might look at the 60k mile plus warranty but I am not sure of the details. |

who do you call to organise this? I had a 1 year warranty (3rd party) thrown in on my CSL nearly a year ago when I bought it, so will be investigating the various options soon.
